Therapy for Military Couples in California and Ohio

What is couples therapy?

Couples therapy is a type of psychotherapy that helps partners improve their relationship, resolve conflicts, and build deeper emotional connection. Whether you're dating, engaged, married, or navigating separation, couples therapy offers a safe space to explore challenges and grow together.

Why Couples Seek Therapy

Every relationship faces ups and downs. Couples therapy can help with:

  • Communication breakdowns
  • Frequent arguments or unresolved conflict
  • Trust issues or infidelity
  • Emotional distance or disconnection
  • Life transitions (e.g., parenting, military deployment, retirement)
  • Trauma or mental health challenges affecting the relationship

For military couples, therapy can also address unique stressors such as long deployments, reintegration, and the emotional impact of service-related trauma.

What Happens in Couples Therapy?

In therapy, I help guide the conversation in a respectful, nonjudgmental way. I help you:

  • Understand each other’s perspectives
  • Improve communication and listening skills
  • Identify patterns that may be causing tension
  • Learn tools to manage conflict and strengthen connection
  • Rebuild trust and intimacy

Therapy isn’t about placing blame but about working together to create a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.

A Path Toward Connection

Couples therapy is not just for relationships in crisis, it’s also a proactive way to strengthen your bond, deepen understanding, and grow together. Whether you're rebuilding after hardship or simply want to improve your connection, therapy can be a powerful step forward.
